This complete assembly highlights another side of the Worthington product line. Unlike the centrifugal pumps we frequently feature, the 6GASMODO uses a positive displacement rotary gear pump design. Worthington 6GASMODO Gear Pump

First, today’s featured pump is a Worthington 6GASMODO.

The gear pump family expands the range of pumping equipment available within the Worthington lineup. Rather than using centrifugal action, this gear pump moves liquid through the rotation of its internal gears.

As a result, the 6GASMODO represents a completely different pump design from the D-Series, LR, and LLR centrifugal pumps we regularly feature.

Complete 5 HP Motor-Mounted Assembly

Next, this 6GASMODO is supplied as a complete assembly with a 5 HP motor.

The pump and motor are connected through a coupling, creating a complete drive arrangement. Furthermore, the entire assembly is mounted together so the pump, coupling, and motor remain properly positioned as one package.

This configuration gives the customer a complete Worthington gear pump assembly that is ready for service.

Fabricated Steel Channel Base

The complete pump and motor assembly is mounted on a fabricated steel channel base.

The pump and motor mounting arrangement is welded to the steel channel, creating a rigid common base for the complete package. Consequently, the pump and driver can remain together as a single assembly during installation.

Additionally, the fabricated base provides a straightforward mounting platform for this 6GASMODO configuration.

Coupling and Coupling Guard

Between the Worthington 6GASMODO and the 5 HP motor is the drive coupling and coupling guard.

The coupling transfers power from the motor to the pump shaft, while the guard encloses the rotating coupling area. Together, these components complete the drive arrangement between the pump and motor.

Therefore, this unit represents more than an individual pump it is a complete assembled pump package.

Positive Displacement Gear Pump Design

The Worthington 6GASMODO operates as a positive displacement gear pump.

As the internal gears rotate, liquid moves through the pump from the inlet toward the discharge. Consequently, this operating principle differs from the centrifugal design used by many other Worthington Pumps.
