Thelco Pump of the Day: Worthington 1.5GRM

Worthington Pumps: 1.5GRM Rotary Gear Pump

Today’s Thelco Pump of the Day features one of our Worthington Pumps, the 1.5GRM rotary gear pump, configured for clockwise rotation.

This pump brings something different to our Pump of the Day lineup. Unlike the centrifugal Worthington pumps we have recently featured, the 1.5GRM uses a positive displacement rotary gear design. Additionally, Thelco supplies complete pumps and Worthington Pump Parts to support these units for continued maintenance and long term operation.

Worthington 1.5GRM Gear Pump

First, today’s featured pump is a Worthington 1.5GRM.

The GR Series represents another part of the broader Worthington pump lineup. Rather than relying on centrifugal action, the 1.5GRM moves liquid through the rotation of its internal gears.

As a result, this pump operates differently from the D-Series, LR, and LLR centrifugal pumps we regularly feature. This gives Thelco the ability to support customers across multiple Worthington pump designs.

Clockwise Rotation

Next, this Worthington 1.5GRM is configured for clockwise rotation.

Rotation is an important specification when selecting a replacement gear pump. Therefore, confirming the correct rotation helps ensure the pump matches the requirements of the existing installation.

This particular 1.5GRM is supplied in the clockwise rotation configuration and is ready for service.

Positive Displacement Gear Pump Design

The Worthington 1.5GRM operates as a positive displacement gear pump.

As the internal gears rotate, liquid moves through the pump from the inlet toward the discharge. Consequently, this operating principle differs from the centrifugal design used by many other Worthington Pumps.

Furthermore, the GR Series expands the range of pumping equipment that Thelco can manufacture, supply, and support.

Worthington Pump Parts for the 1.5GRM

In addition to complete pumps, Thelco supplies Worthington Pump Parts for existing GR Series gear pumps.

Replacement requirements can include gears, shafts, bushings, seals, gaskets, and other individual components. Therefore, customers can maintain existing equipment while replacing the components required during normal service.

Moreover, Thelco’s inventory and manufacturing capabilities extend across numerous Worthington pump families, giving customers a source for both complete pumps and individual replacement parts.

Supporting Worthington Pumps for the Long Term

Many Worthington Pumps remain in operation after decades of service. For this reason, access to the correct replacement pump and components remains important.

Thelco supports centrifugal pumps, split case pumps, and rotary gear pumps. Additionally, our inventory of Worthington Pump Parts helps customers continue maintaining existing Worthington equipment.

Whether the requirement is for a complete pump or an individual component, Thelco continues to support numerous Worthington models, sizes, and configurations.
